Disney Theme Park Food!!!!

Disney Theme Park Food!!!!

Walt Disney World: Food Edition

I have covered all about the theme parks and what my favorite rides and attractions are but I haven’t talked about what my favorite foods are. So let’s jump right in!

What are the types of food locations spread out throughout WDW (Walt Disney World)?

In the parks there are several types of dining locations and can be classified as; Quick Service, Moderate Dining, and Fine Dining. For quick service locations these include little snack carts spread out throughout the parks as well a counter service spots where no reservation is required. Moderate dining is restaurants within the parks that most of the time a reservation is required to sit down at a table and eat. And then fine dining is the very expensive, you most definitely need a dining reservation, don’t bring very small children dining locations.

The fine dining locations are found mostly at the various resorts on Walt Disney World Property while quick service and the sit down moderate locations are found at the resorts as well as in all four theme parks. I will be highlighting my favorite snacks and meals I have had on my previous trip to Disney World back in January of 2019.

Magic Kingdom Food Highlights:

Before my the trip I just had in January of 2019, the last time I had been to Disney World was 2016 so within those three years I had written down a lot of snacks and food that I had heard about that I really wanted to try. The first item I got on my trip in January was a Nutella and Fruit Waffle Sandwich from the quick service location Sleepy Hollow in Liberty Square in Magic Kingdom.Of course I had to take a picture of my food in front of Cinderella castle

This sandwich was so good and I highly recommend it for breakfast or as a dessert item as well! I had been looking forward to trying this and I was not disappointed. My next item that is a must get in any of the four Disney theme parks is a Mickey Premium Bar. This is a vanilla ice cream bar coated in a hard chocolate shell in the shape of Mickey Mouse. I got to dine at the moderate dining restaurant The Skipper Canteen located in Adventureland and had some really yummy dumplings.

Hollywood Studios Food Highlights:

Hollywood studios is home to several sit down restaurant locations such a 50’s Prime Time Diner and The Brown Derby Restaurant though it also has quite a few quick service locations and snack carts also. For lunch on my last trip we stopped by at Woody’s Lunch Box located in Toy Story Land and I had a really yummy Turkey Sandwich and pasta salad.

Sometimes quick service restaurants can be hit or miss in terms of quality and this meal was a hit for sure. Really good and also fairly healthy for theme park food. For dessert I tried a Lunch Box tart from this location as well which was also very good.

This was the seasonal Lunch box tart as it was around Christmas time when I went but they also offer two other flavors year round

With the new Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge opening in August I’m sure there will lots of other delicious treats to try out on my next trip to Disney!

EPCOT Food Highlights:

EPCOT being home to the World Showcase has a lot of yummy food found in each country. My sister and I tried to eat a snack from every country though that proved out to be a challenge. We didn’t eat in all 11 of the countries but we definitely got snacks or some food item in about half of them. My favorite snacks included the School Bread from the Norway Pavilion. It is a pastry filled with a not too sweet custard with coconut on top, so good.

My next favorite snack was the Strawberry Macaron Ice Cream Sandwich from the France Pavilion. I could have had probably 10 of these it was just so good.

I wish I could eat one of these right now, ugh they’re just so good!!!

For a really nice sit down restaurant in the World Showcase I would recommend La Hacienda de San Angel. This was a great Mexican restaurant and while it is a little pricy it was in my opinion worth it for the amount of food you get and unlimited tortilla chips.

Fish Tacos cost $30 but you get four of them plus the side of rice and beans. Not too bad when you are also considering it is a theme park so prices are always high.

Animal Kingdom Food Highlights:

This theme park offers a lot of Asian and African inspired cuisine. Great sit down location in Animal Kingdom would be Tusker House. I have not dined here myself but I have heard really great things about the food and the fact that it is a character dining experience! I loved Animal Kingdoms snacks such as my favorite and most iconic food, Pineapple Dolewhip. Frozen pineapple juice that is turned into what looks like softserve but dairy free.

In Animal Kingdom’s Pandora: World of Avatar they offer some really unique items such as a cheeseburger bao bun which turned out to be pretty tasty. This was served in the lands quick service location, Satu’li Canteen.

Overall all four theme parks are able to cater to everyones needs whether it be for a nice family sit down restaurant or something grab and go like the many quick service locations and snack carts. For more information on every single restaurant offered at the Walt Disney World Resort check out Disney Food Blog. This website offers reviews on every restaurant and if it is worth spending money there while on your Disney trip. I have learned so much from the website so make sure to check it out!

Thanks for stopping by, hope you have a magical day!
