This internship course was completed during my Fall semester of my Senior year. I was able to secure an internship with a company in Biddeford, ME, Oceans Balance. They are a small company that packages and creates various seaweed products. They package whole leaf varieties of seaweed such as Dulse, Wakame, and Kombu and also sell those in a flake form as well. They have created a line of seaweed sprinkles and a kelp puree. My role at the company was helping in packing and shipping the products out to their large customer base. It was a great place to intern at and I was lucky to have an experience that was in person. The experience showed me how a company like Oceans Balance operates and gets started. I liked my experience so much that I accepted a part-time position with them that I have been doing in my Spring semester.
