For this assignment I had never known what these types of memes were until I heard the name and saw the example of one. I kept scrolling through the existing memes and thought that pictures of animals seem to be a popular subject. As I was doing this I also asked my boyfriend for some inspiration and he suggested a bumblebee. As most people know bumblebees are one of the most important insects as they pollinate flowers and plants which is extremely valuable in agriculture. Well unfortunately in the past decade they have been dying off in alarming numbers, from lots of different causes such as pesticide use and climate change. So for the caption I decided a cheesy one like “Bee Strong” would be funny but with the caption underneath showing the actual fact about bumblebees. This create allowed me to think creatively to make something funny but also putting out a message about a real problem we are facing today.
