Arts & Humanities Capstone

This course served as a replacement of ENG 334: Methods in Literary Criticism. This course helped in the completion of both of my English and Writing minors. It was a unique opportunity to take what I have learned in previous humanities courses and expand upon that assignment. I also through completing this course gained worked to answer the question of what are the humanities and why do they matter. Throughout my time at UNE I have certainly taken a good amount of classes within this discipline and I can say that they helped to prepare me for how I view the world and analyze things deeper hidden meanings. This course was a really unique take on a capstone course and focused on what I have learned and can take away from my coursework rather than the creation of a completely new project which I thought was very unique and fun to do.

“This course serves as a capstone experience for Liberal Studies majors integrating previous course work as well as providing a forum for the individual student’s interest in a specialized topic. The student will be engaged in individual research topics developed in close consultation with a faculty advisor and a second faculty reader representing a second discipline. Students may elect to write a thesis or to develop a project that represents their research and creativity in some other way.”
